Vacation recap part 1

We're back! We had a wonderful vacation and I was a little sad to come home. A week is never enough time to spend at the beach. I went to sleep with the roar of the ocean in the background and woke up to it every morning.

I also woke up to all the idiots lining up at 8 a.m to reserve chairs with their beach towels until they moseyed themselves back to the pool later in the day. I guess it's the price you pay for staying at a resort with a gazillion other people.

I did everything I wanted to do. I layed on the beach, I swam in the pool, and I drank bud light limes. But before we even made it to the resort, we made a (5 hour out-of-the-way stop because we cant read maps and thought that it would only take a few hours to get to Myrtle from Kitty Hawk but we didn't take into consideration the fact that the van doesn't float through water so we would have to head west before we could head south) pit stop to the Outer Banks. We stayed in the dirtiest hotel you could ever stay in which reminds me that I need to go on Trip Advisor and leave a comment because you know, the one comment from me is really going to be the deciding factor of weather or not a person to decides to stay at this flea bag hotel.

So 7 a.m on Friday the 17th, we packed up the van and headed south.

We only made it 10 minutes before we needed to stop for breakfast where Kyle chose a red apple (I did give birth to him right?) and Alyssa grabbed a doughnut.

That's right baby girl. You just look at that apple like it's a space alien and enjoy that doughnut for your Mama's sake okay?

We only made it 40 more minutes before one of the kids had to pee, and only a few hours before we found the place that made Kyle's heart get all tingly inside.

Grave Digger's Dungeon. You know, the Monster Truck?

Kyle and T even rode on a Monster Truck. They were on cloud nine.

We made it to the dirty hotel in Kitty Hawk where we swam in a dirty pool and were forced to hang out in the dirty hotel room because of a thunderstorm where I went all Kate Gosselin on my family and made them wear socks in the hotel room for fear of catching a foot fungus.
So, we played with a shower cap, jumped on the beds, and took pictures of each other. In that exact order.

The room had two double beds so T and Kyle shared a bed and Alyssa and I shared the other. I will never sleep with that girl again. She kept me awake all night with her restless sleeping and snoring. Whoever thought a 2 yr old could be so noisy? After a sleepless night, we packed up our stuff and headed to a real beach.

Myrtle Beach, S.C.

To be continued..
